This collection of stories for and about kickass indigenous women might just leave you awe-struck.

When Quiane Matata-Sipu realised that stories of indigenous wāhine (woman-identifying people) were nearly impossible to find, she created multimedia movement “NUKU” – a podcast series-turned-book. NUKU is as enjoyable to look at as it is to read, each photo and story inviting you into the intimate settings of each of the featured wāhine. The photography and design were total standouts and it’s clear that careful attention has been given to every detail. We felt empowered by the incredible women within these pages.
