Homegoing is a sweeping narrative that spreads across continents and time. The first chapter begins in West Africa and follows two half-sisters separated by slavery: one is taken by slavers and the other is not. The following chapters tell the stories of their descendants, moving through history towards the present day. It’s vast, and yet alive and personal.
